A collection of rare and rediscovered original films by Georges Méliès. This disc contains films produced between 1909 through 1913. Méliès, a successful magician, began investigating film as a medium of trickery in 1896. Through inventive optical effects and elaborate sets and props, he discovered how to make objects and people appear, disappear and grow larger and smaller. While best known for his fantastic tales, Méliès also produced witty advertising films and re-stagings of actual events.
