Abstract
This program introduces basic relief printmaking and the techniques and simple materials and tools used to produce relief prints. In one demonstration, the printmakers prepare a linocut print using a brayer, a press, or by burnishing with a spoon. They also show in step-by-step demonstrations how different types of relief printing blocks including wood, an eraser, and other easily cut commercial printing blocks can be used and the prints they produce. Finished prints that have been created by these methods are shown.
